Is there a workaround which actually works for the desk_rt_ipc_error issue as the one published does not?

The workaround stated in this article https://www.anydeskusa.com/help/11/deskrtipcerror-message-trying-connect-through-anydesk says to click on "Switch Sides" on the lightning bolt menu but in reality all the menu items are greyed out during the connection phase so this is not possible.
