AnyDesk Security Incident: Recommendations and Updates for Users
Recently, AnyDesk has publicly reported a security incident that affected some of its systems. Here is the full statement.
It is important to note the following:
- Since AnyDesk does not store keys, tokens, or access credentials, users can rest assured that this incident does not grant access to their devices in any way.
- Recommended security measures have been implemented and relevant authorities have been notified.
- Two preventive recommendations have been issued for AnyDesk users, which are easy to apply:
Important measures for AnyDesk users:
- Password change:
When attempting to log in to my.anydesk, the portal will prompt for a password change. If users encounter any difficulty or the change process does not start automatically, they can initiate the change themselves.
If the user has used the my.anydesk access password for other services, it is crucial to also update it there and avoid the unsafe practice of password reuse in the future.

AnyDesk has recommended keeping AnyDesk updated to the latest version, specifically version 8.0.8 or higher.
