We are constantly updating AnyDesk with new features and improvements. Below, you can find ways of how to update AnyDesk to the latest version.

Please note that updating the AnyDesk client will keep the pre-existing AnyDesk-ID and settings from the previous version of AnyDesk.

Windows

Note: The below only applies to Standard clients. For custom clients, please see Custom Clients.

Windows currently has three release channels:

  1. Release Channel: These are the latest full-release versions of AnyDesk which are available from our website or custom versions from my.AnyDesk.com.
To update an existing installed client, simply download the latest version of AnyDesk and run the program. AnyDesk will automatically detect the older version of AnyDesk and ask if you wish to update.
To be automatically notified of our latest updates in the client, please go to “Settings” > “Security” > “Updates” and enable “Disable auto-update”.
  2. Automatic Update Channel: AnyDesk versions contained in the automatic update channel are the latest fully stable versions of AnyDesk. AnyDesk versions on the release channel are normally moved to the automatic update channel a few weeks after release following feedback from our users.
To enable automatic updates, please go to “Settings” > “Security” > “Updates” and enable “Keep AnyDesk automatically up-to-date”.
  3. Beta Channel: AnyDesk provides Beta versions of AnyDesk for users who wish to experience the cutting-edge of AnyDesk features. Please note that the Beta versions are pre-release and can contain issues that may affect your experience with AnyDesk.
To update the AnyDesk client to the Beta version, please go to “Settings” > “Security” > “Updates” and enable “Beta version”.
Completely restarting AnyDesk and the AnyDesk Service will update it to the latest Beta version when they start up again.

Note: A new version of AnyDesk can also be installed manually on top. Closing or Uninstalling AnyDesk is not required.

If the custom client has been made public in my.AnyDesk.com by enabling “Make download link publicly available”, clicking the notification will automatically download the latest version of the custom client. The user can then manually run the downloaded client to update AnyDesk.

If the custom client has not been made public, updated clients will need to be manually deployed by the owner of the my.anydesk.com account.

Remote Update

AnyDesk can be updated remotely.

Within a session, the update/installation can be started by the connecting party. The session will then close while AnyDesk installs. Once the client finishes installing, it will automatically start again and be available for reconnection.

Please note that Unattended Access must be configured to establish a new session if there is no user sitting in front of the remote device.

Furthermore, installing/updating AnyDesk requires administrative permissions. To interact with the UAC prompts, please refer to Administrator Privileges and Elevation (UAC)
